Rich Jacobs (Memorial Rebroadcast) – Ep. 113

Rich Jacobs (Memorial Rebroadcast) – Ep. 113

The world has lost one of the all-time greats. Rich was one of the kindest and most inspiring people I’ve ever known. He lived in perpetual creative expression and encouraged everyone he met to do the same, both with his words and through constant demonstration. In addition to his continual art-making(no matter the time or place or circumstances), his curation of countless shows supporting other artists, his love of music(making, listening, sharing), and a host of other great qualities, his very essence carried a creative element that you couldn’t help but be moved by. It was always a joy to talk to Rich, and he had a way of leaving you feeling better than you had before, about yourself, the world, and life in general. A truly special being with an enormous capacity for love and light. I feel honored to have known him, and his impact will be everlasting. With love and gratitude, JW

The above conversation took place at his home in Oakland, CA, in March of 2018.

OUTSPOKEN – WhoWhatWhereWhenWhy?

OUTSPOKEN – WhoWhatWhereWhenWhy?

Hello Friends,

My apologies for being away and out of contact. Life is pretty intense sometimes, wouldn’t you agree? In this short episode I try to summarize what this podcast is all about and what it means to me, as well as explain a bit about what has been going on for me personally, and how it could lead to some interesting and exciting changes for this and all the other creative avenues I plan to continue exploring. I hope my explanation serves to elucidate my mission and ambition, and also that it gives you a solid reason to stick around and be a part of whatever comes next.

With love and gratitude,

Justin

OUTSPOKEN – Ep. 59 – Bruce Bickford (Memorial rebroadcast)

OUTSPOKEN – Ep. 59 – Bruce Bickford (Memorial rebroadcast)

This is a rebroadcast of my interview with Bruce Bickford, from August of 2018 (originally Ep. 22), who passed away a few months ago. This episode includes the complete original interview and its musical interludes*, plus a minor tribute and a new original song for Bruce, not heard in the first broadcast. *The second two interludes are excerpts of songs from the album Wayward Doctrine, by Father Howl. Many thanks to Aaron and Eric for facilitating my time with Bruce, and to Bruce himself for being a true original, and for making such brilliant and beautiful art.

Rest in peace, Bruce. (Feb. 11, 1947 – April 28, 2019)
